COURSE OVERVIEW

The Essential First Step for Montessori Practitioners

The Practitioner’s Class is the foundational course in the Positive Discipline in the Montessori Classroom training pathway. Using a child-study and case-study approach, participants explore the principles and practices of Positive Discipline in an experiential learning environment alongside Montessori educators from around the world.

Over eight weeks, participants learn to implement respectful, effective, and time-tested classroom management practices that reflect core Montessori values, including mutual respect, cooperation, responsibility, empathy, and independence. Through discussion, reflection, and practical application, educators develop the confidence and consistency needed to respond thoughtfully to the challenges of everyday classroom life.

As the foundation of the PDMC training pathway, the Practitioner’s Class provides the essential principles, tools, and structures needed to implement Positive Discipline in the Montessori classroom. Educators who wish to continue their professional growth may then advance to the Advanced Practitioner’s Class (Level 2) to deepen their understanding and refine their practice.

What Montessorians Are Saying

Hear how practitioners are transforming their classrooms through Positive Discipline.

Paulene Meert, Head of Schol, Sophia Montessori Academy

“Thank you so much for an incredible class!! I am so excited to share this with my staff and hope to someday have you come and speak to our school. Thank you also for starting this group and all your work! I was just telling my staff today that your work is everything I have always wanted for classroom management founded on Montessori’s work and have just done my best to piece together through trial and error and some big learning experiences."

Amber Engel, Head of School, Nature's Way Montessori School

"We've seen more immediate follow-up and application of Positive Discipline among our staff than after any previous training. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many commenting on how relatable the content was. For me personally, participating in several workshops over six months has been hugely impactful. I'm seeing significant changes in how I respond to children and in my interactions with staff."
